Question Need help with installing xfree86 3.3.6.


Hi..i have installed red hat 7.3 without gnome/kde/x because x 4.1.0+ doesn't work on my computer..so now I'm trying to install 3.3.6 separately but i cant understand how to do it..actually..i don't even now which files i need..please can someone tell me what to do?

And remember I'm almost a total ..

Find a local Red Hat ftp mirror, look for packages called XFree86-3.3.6-(version).rpm and XFree86-(parts)-3.3.6-(version).rpm where "parts" are the XFree servers, fonts, docs, tools and libs and download them.
running rpm install with test flags (man rpm) should show you if you miss any dependencies which you should download as well.

If I recall correctly the last time XFree86-3.3.6-(version).rpm's where avaliable was for Red Hat 7.0.
