Need help to install Linux, please.

I recently bought a used HP pavilion 753n with XP and plan to replace the XP with Linux.

The previous owner has forgotten the password, so I decided to try to boot from a 'Live' CD or DVD but apparently the BIOS is not set to do this.

How would I access BIOS, since I can't get past the 'password' screen?

Would there be any other options I could try so as to be able to install Linux on this machine?

Your help will be appreciated.

You will need to clear your BIOS password. There's no easier way to do that:

If you have a floppy drive you can use Smart Boot Manager
