Maybe you could start with installing the gcc compiler.

Cheers

Spell out your words, please. And HOW did you install the GCC compiler? From where? What happens if you just type in "gcc" at the command prompt? What, EXACTLY are you typing in?

And you are aware that Fedora 17 has not had updates/support since early last year, right? The latest if 20.

please stay current and install Fedora 20 FIRST

as to the "spell out your words"
googletranslate and bablefish do not work well on "text speek"

and typing in "text speek" is considered a bit "rude" and rather "CHILDISH"
it portrays the person as a teenager or preteen

NO boss wants to get a email in "text speek"

now as to installing gcc
it is a LOT more complicated than just installing ONLY the current gcc.rpm

gcc NEEDS a lot of other things

now with fedora 17 being UNSUPPORTED and will NEVER be updated some repo mirrors will have been removed but it should ( for now ) still work
Code:
yum groupinstall "Development Tools"
that will install the compiller and what it needs
BUT NOT any needed headers and librarys
