If you want a different link or torrent, then you need to go to Google and look one up. Again, 5.8 is old...the latest is 6.x, so why are you trying to download an old version to start with?
And sorry, but you CAN get 5.8 from Red Hat's website....

That's true, but you CAN download RHEL for free. You just sign up on their website, and you can download it for free, and get 30 days of support. After that, you need to pay.
I totally agree with you about CentOS, if you're not going to pay for RHEL...pointless to put a production server in place, and leave it without support/updates/patches/etc.
