Need Help on Port Opening


Hi to all on LQ
I need major help on opening ports for incoming connections
i use an Airtel Connection with a 220BX ADSL2 modem(external) on ethernet.
i am able to use all the needed things like viewing webpages n stuff downloading things from net but i am not able to download any thing from the p2p network it says your ports might not be open pls check n open all ports
so how do i do it guys
i use Fedora 7 on my pc
pls help guys

you don't "open" ports unless you have a firewall running on the machine... do you? what's most likely is that you've not set up port forwarding on your router.. http://portforward.com

You are right dear i dont have no firewall on Linux so would be looking forward to do what you have told me to
if this works would be thankful

Port forwarding or not, you still need to know the port number you're trying to get a connection on.

What p2p program are you using?
