Welcome to LQ!

Check www.linuxprinting.org to see if your printer is supported.

Then goto http://localhost:631 in your web browser. Click "Administration" and then "Add Printer". Follow the steps, and print a test page when you are done to make sure it all works.

Post back here if you need more helps

The easiest way I've found is (as root)

Code:
# apt-get install printconf
This should get everything you need and debconf will configure it for you.

Go to http://localhost:631/printers/ and try a test page ... that is, if all went well and your printer is there.

If the printer is there and the test page works, the simplest thing to try next is (as root)
Code:
# apt-get install lpr

This is actually a Xebian system im trying to install this on. But it should still work just as if it were a Debian.

Claiming that your Debian derivative is "just like Debian" is an insult to Debian users. If you google 'xebian printers,' your first hit will be here: http://ask.metafilter.com/mefi/36954

It appears that at least one person on there got some printer working, but it's obviously not "just like Debian."
