Need help installing Java on Fedora.
I have downloaded the jdeesdk-1_4-dr-linux-eval file form Sun. Now what do I do with it? This question is prolly more geared toward "How to I install this thing". I am very very new to Linux and Fedora, but I can usually figure things out. If someone could at least point me to a place where i can read about how to do this, i would really appreciate it. Thanks.

You can find installation instructions on Sun's website http://www.sun.com .
From the sun site: Installing on Unix 1. Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the bundle file. 2. Change the permission of the bundle file so that you have execute access: chmod +x <bundle-file-name> 3. Run the installation program. 1. To run the installation program that uses a graphical interface, at the command prompt type the name of the bundle file at the command prompt. 2. To run the installation program that uses the command-line interface, at the command prompt type the name of the bundle file followed by the -console option. |
Is there a apt/yum repository for the sun or IBM J2SDK?
