need help installing full centos from usb

I am building a system based on the VIA EPIA LN10000EG mother board. The system will not have an optical drive. I want to install the full version of Centos 5. I was planning on copying the DVD image to a 4GB USB drive. However, in reading up on the USB process I discovered that there is a 2GB limit on fat16. I would consider temporarily adding a DVD drive but I do not know if the system has enough power. I suppose another option would be to connect the machines HD to another computer and then install the files. Unfortunately I do not have much experience with this sort of thing either. The other machine would likely be running XP pro. My only other linux machine is ancient and runs red hat 5. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone happen to know if centos 5 supports the epia ln10000?

Are you going to try to install your OS on a fat16 filesystem? Why not just format the USB drive to ext3 or something that will work?

I will try formatting the USB in ext3

I did not know that was possible. I have no experience with this. The only time I installed linux I used a CD that came with a book. I found some information on the net about installing from a USB and it talked about formatting the USB with fat16. When I build the machine I will try other formats on the USB.
