need help install wifi drivers on my compaq presario v6000 using openSUSE 10.3

i have downloaded and installed openSUSE 10.3 on my compaq laptop. i cannot figure out how to install the wireless drivers. i have read forums about "ndiswrapper." i have downloaded 1.52 and tried that but with no luck. i am stuck at a point using the "make" command.

need help or specific details on what to do.

Thanks.

Have you downloaded the windows drivers for your chipset? You'll need them. What chipset do you have?

wireless

Yes you'll need to find out which chipset you have. I have a compaq presario as well and I recently got my wireless working after hours of trying. If you have an Atheros card I can probably help you.

You can download bcmfwcutter and use the native linux driver with this card. Doing so will give you better support than ndiswrapper. Look for fwcutter in your repositories, and if its not obvious how to use it, google it. Easy stuff

openSUSE 10.3 is LONG DEAD
also this is a post from 2008

there is no longer any way really to "fix" a 10.3 install other than installing leap 42.2
