My mate, as i mentioned in a previous post, has samba on his b.t home hub. This is, of course, not a hub but a router and modem in one.Well it has samba on it and i need to know how to configure the server end of samba ie smb.conf remotely(because it's on this router). Is it merely a matter of doing http://i.p_addy_of_router?
and this will auto-edit the right config file?.I'm only asking this because i don't have his set up with me and i need to be ready to install and configure everything when i go round to his.
Also does anybody know whether linpus linux lite(on acer aspire one)has the necessary packages to be a samba client installed?.If not which packages need installing?..and which is the best repo for the unsupported fedora 8?(which linpus is based on)
Sorry for being a bit clueless but i've never dealt with fedora/linpus before and like i said i only have access to his machine when i go to his...so i want to go there with as much info as possible to help him(he's even more of a n00b than me)
Thankyou so much for your time
