backtrack 5 rc3 is LONG DEAD!!!!!

do not use
it has not been supported in a long time

it was based on the ALSO long unsupported Ubuntu 10.04

DO NOT even try to update it to use ubuntu 12.04
you will KILL EVERY EXTRA added program

the CURRENT operating system from "Offensive Security"
is Kali

https://www.kali.org/

and READ!!! and take heed of the WARNINGS that the developers STATE!!! in the FIRST SECTION OF DOCUMENTATION
" is Kali right for me"
http://docs.kali.org/category/introduction
but you REALLY should take the training courses ( you will need to TEST IN !!!! )
