hi there, you took the harder way to do the job. It was not necessary, except this was a little practice.
XAMP is installed, don't need to install the LAMP.
Anyway, seems that would be good to install ftp server, Drupal 7 will ask some updates or installation of some module
could require it.
But, you can take it easy now.
