Need a good HowTo for IMAP Mail Server

Could someone point me to a very good HowTo on setting up a mail server using IMAP. I need to use IMAP cause im trying to use SquirelMail Web Interface. Its a single domain so I dont need the virtual domain stuff.. I tried one of those and just seems to make the whole process more complex then needed for me. Im on a LFS system so everything is done by source, no package management. I need it to start from scratch, assume no mail programs are installed period. .. Thanks...
