ndiswrapper not loading at boot

I've just re-installed PCLinuxOS *Big Daddy* after removing the XP partition on my Toshiba laptop.

I now have a problem with ndiswrapper (loading a Broadcom mini-pci). Previously I could find ndiswrapper in Control Centre>System and it was set to load on boot. Now it's not there at all.

I can manually reactivate through a Terminal as SU>ndiswrapper -i but before Wlan0 just installed and worked.

Any idea how I can force ndiswrapper to load along with the rest of the items at Boot?

To make ndiswrapper boot on startup do:

ndiswrapper -m

and then

modprobe ndiswrapper

Be sure to have installed the driver before doing ndiswrapper -m.

Just restart the computer then and check with "dmesg" if it has loaded.

Something like this should be in dmesg:

module ndiswrapper unsupported by SUSE/Novell, tainting kernel.
ndiswrapper version 1.0@050205 loaded (preempt=no,smp=yes)
ndiswrapper: driver wg311v2 (NETGEAR, Inc.,04/04/2004,6.0.2.23) loaded
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:01.0[[A]] -> GSI 19 (level, low) -> IRQ 185
ndiswrapper: using irq 185

Many thanks. Perfect answer. I followed your instructions and all is now well. Bit odd it installed OK initially but then didn't when I re-installed PCLinuxOS. But who said life was simple?

I'm glad it works for you! And indeed life's not simple, and that's good, otherwise it'd be boring !
