ndiswrapper installation on Fedora Core 5
Hello. This is the second time that I use linux, I would like to learn but I am stuck and this is just my second day! I will appreciate if you can help me to know what I am doing wrong.
I am trying to install ndiswrapper to install my wireless card (on a ZD8000). First step that someone told me is RTFM, I did it and I did't understand everything. So I review some post and articles in this site and another and here you have the Issues that I am facing: I download the ndiswrapper (1.19) 1. I can execute the make unistall 2. I can execute the make distclean without any issue 3. When I try to execute the make install KSRC=/usr/scr/kernels/ I have the following error Can't find kernel build files in /usr/src/kernels/2.6.16-1.2088_FC5-i686 I don't know what to do....the strange thing is when I execute the uname -r I have 2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp I believe that I already made a mess of my OS....any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance JJ |
First you will need the kernel source here;
ftp://ftp.linux.ncsu.edu/pub/fedora/...54_FC5.src.rpm Then follow this blog, its down the page a little Configure Wireless in Fedora Core 4 for Hp zd8000 Its for 4 but should give you the general idea. Post back if you have problems. |
Thank you for you answer.
The problem that I have now is installing the kernel....anyway, after that I will try to follow your seggestion. JJ |
