Unhappy ndiswrapper

Hi All

strange one - and thats not just me
On my home computer I have installed ndiswrapper and the wireless card functions wonderfully

I have now made the jump and put LINUX on my laptop, the PCMCIA bits are installed but my card is not recognised, I have installed ndiswrapper and it now recognises the card and can even scan for my AP, my problem comes when I try and configure the card, I can set the WEP and mode of the AP but when I come to tell ndiswrapper the ESSID of my AP it locks out the computer

I can scan with the card and find the AP before I set the WEP key so I know I am spelling the ESSID correctly.....I am all confused as to why it crashes when I try and tell IWCONFIG the ESSID of my AP

any help gratefully received

What kind of WiFi card are you using? and what distro are you using? I believe with some cards the wep doesn't work correctly when using the ndiswrapper.
