Nautilus claims insufficient privs for samba mount
 

Hello all,

I am currently running Fedora Core 1 on a Windows Network and I am having some difficulties with Nautilus and mounting my Netapp server (samba mount).

I am able to mount my server using command line and I can write to it with no problems but when I try to mount it through Nautilus, I actually am able to log into the server but once I get to the main level and I try to drill down it tells me that I have insufficient privs.

Things done:

I changed my UID to match what is on the NIS server so that I can write to the directories.
Mounted via command line and verified that I can actually write to this directory.

Questions:

Is there a way I can get Nautilus to work either with a reinstall of an RPM or any type of settings I can change?

Is there another Network Browser I can use if I can't get Nautilus to work?

you should be able to browse the network w/ any web browser. when you are able to mount and write to the directory (from the cl), are you the same user that is logged in when your trying toaccess via nautilus?

Yes I am the same user. I have not tried using with a browser window. I always try to keep those things seperate but I know that Linux is known for having multiple different installations of the same thing so I thought maybe there was another browser I could use to see if it was just Nautilus.

konqueror is a web browser as well as file manager, i think that's what your looking for right? just a different file manager. maybe i'm misunderstanding something?

No that is what I am looking for... Is there a way to re install nautilus some how?

I just tried using Konqueror and it's not only slow but it keeps prompting me for my username and password so it doesn't seem to be functioning to well for file browsing either.
