Can you access it on the command line? What happens when you do these:
Code:
cd /
ls /
ls -l /
What permissions does it display if you do this:
Code:
ls -ld /

What does "ls -ld /" give you as root?

It's not set to be world-readable, so only root can read, write, and execute. It's also strange that the group is allowed to read but the owner isn't. I'll let someone else tell you exactly what to do, though, since you have to be very careful when changing permissions. If you type the wrong thing you'll end up changing the permissions of every file on your system with no way to get them back, and I'm not comfortable enough with what permissions every directory is supposed to have.
