Nagios with Kerberos authentication issue

I just took over an old nagios setup and had no documentation on it.
It was setup with kerberos so we can authenticate with AD, and runs on HTTPD. Linux is Red Hat Ent 5
Local nagiosadmin account exists but cant login with it, even after pwd reset.

Recently our old DC win 2003 was demoted and then forest level raised to 2008 and nagios stopped authenticating.

Logs indicate some encryption issue probably due to different encryption levels in win 2008.
So now I am locked out.
I need help with the following, my linux is not the strongest.
1. Get local authentication going so I can atleast login with nagiosadmin
2. If possible get AD auth working again, I had issues generating a new keyfile
Also I would like an outline of which folders I need to backup in case I have to reinstall nagios. I think configs are most important thats where all our host details are.

Thanks

I figured out the 1. Initially i uncommented the local authentication but I left kerberos stuff as is.
This time I commented out the kerberos Directory config and now I can login locally.
