Nagios Export

I am using nagios 3.5.1. Whenever i make changes i will export from configuration frontend to get effect on nagios. Today i can see the export is kept on running whereas am trying to stop manually but failed finding way to do that. Is there anyone came across same scenario or know how to proceed with that?

I am trying to do configuration export. Its just a push button in frontend. When i do so its will export all the configuration change to nagios core. But now i can see "export running" since yesterday. I couldnt stop it or start a new export. I can see "There was a problem writing to /etc/nagios. Check your permissions and try again." message. I have checked the permission "drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Oct 2 14:58 nagios".

If it has always worked before - then I am going to guess that it was restarted and it is running as the wrong user.
