N00B Wants To Build a Cheap SAN

Hey all,

I am a n00b compared to the folks that hang out here, but am learning a TON, damn theres lots to learn in linux, but am working on a box everyday thanks to VMWARE and my work (YAY!) ok...so like I have been thinking lately...I would like to build a SAN with like 4 TB of space on it....

what is the best way to accomplish this task?
-- what exact hardware would I need...shopping list please
-- what exact software do I need....if you can help me gather some links I can do the reading up....
-- also can you tell me how to bond two ethernet cards together to get better network performance out of the box

Also, I am looking to find a cheap rack-mount server cabinet, please dont say crappy craigs list or ebay, any place else I can get this on the cheap? something like 21u would be small enough for my 600sq ft place

Also - what is the best file system for a SAN? is there a particular distro that works well with this? I prefer CentOS as thats what I have been learning on....

Really appreciate it...thank you in advance for all the help!!
