"how much should i partition for RHL9?"
Somewhere between 4 and 10 Gigabytes. ___________________________________ Be prepared. Create a LifeBoat CD. http://users.rcn.com/srstites/LifeBo...home.page.html Steve Stites |
Uhm... If you mean RH9, my install was like 1.6gigs. You should be comfortable with 2.5gigs (that is, including KDE or GNOME and OpenOffice). Of course, RedHat is a very, very big distro. If you want something that is more compact, try Slackware or Debian.

thnks :D
and reply to peace: i'm not advanced enough to use console based OS like slackware, but thnx anyway :9 |
There is always the RH9 based JAMD-Linux .. it's a really clean rework of RH9 and it was built with the noob inmind. Version 0.0.7 is due out pretty soon, but version 0.0.6b has been keeping me entertained for close to 5 months now.
Cheers, and happy Linux'n .. Justin:rolleyes: |

Slackware can be run from a gui (kde, gnome, fluxbox, blackbox, etc.) You can choose what to install during the installation. If you have Redhat, then use that. If you are just starting out, I would load everything and play around with the different apps. When you become comfortable, start deleting the apps. that you do not need or want. |
