mysql trouble

Hello,
I have a mysql datbase, I believe it was upgraded and nw .MYI and .MYD files are gone, I still have ibdata1 and iblogfile0 and 1 as well as the .FRM file, is there anyway I can recover the database, I'm checking online and find only the solution for wamp servers.copying the ibdata and ib_log files into the database directory doesnt workif I stop and start the server..

I am on ubuntu 10.04

mysql service starts and stops fine

database is accessible , only 2 tables from the database are missing the .myi and .myd files

Table engine is MyISAM

Thank you

I am not saying it can't be done but I researched this not to long ago and unless you did or can do a mysqldump I don't think you can recover the database. I guess in a way this is a security feature. The dump command is not ran inside MySql but from the terminal...Let me know if you need the syntax for the command.

Thank you for your time taken to actually reply.I ended up fixing the issue, because I still had the .frm which is the structure, but no .myd and .myi, so I created those files and then repaired the table inside mysql and then no further errors were thrown, I couldnt however get back old data in those tables because I didnt have a dump.
