MYSQL remote gui interface

I am a Systems Tech for the company I work with and I want to look like a hotshot by implementing a MYSQL database to replace their "IT incident" EXCEL sheets.

They have a system where if there is an IT problem with the new system, they log it in an excel document.

What I want to do is have them submit it via a GUI interface to a remote MYSQL server and be able to view, print, search, the database of incidents.

I am familar with how to get a mysql server running, but I was wondering if there was a GUI interface front end to MYSQL that I could configure so users would be able to do the basic mysql things that one can do at a command line, but at a GUI interface from their Windows XP machines.

If you are looking for a GUI interface for Windows XP, this should be posted on General, since it is not a Linux question.

Anyway, look for MySQL Query Browser. It is very nice and friendly. Don't expect it to be a nice as Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express (which you might consider using also), but it sure is helpful.

I am not sure what they do at your company, but it surprises me that they don't use a database for that. Something like TargetProcess would be an even better solution as well.

Not gooey, but web-based ...
http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=%2Bwe...&Go.x=0&Go.y=0

And of course, if you were happy to use a real database as the back-end that would widen
the scope.... request tracker springs to mind for use with postgres, for example...

Cheers,
Tink
