mysql install error says "please submit bug report"

while configuring mysql on Suse 9.2 I got an error that
says that it encountered a bug:

http://www.tanguay.at/problems/mysqlInstallError.png

The same syntax worked fine on Red Hat 8.

Is this really a bug or am I missing something simple?
Or do I need to install some missing package?
Anything that Red Hat has that Suse doesn't by default?

Thanks,

Looks like a real problem...
This error is probably a bug in SuSE Linux' C compiler, not in mysql. You should look at http://sdb.suse.com/, the SuSE Linux Support Database, or really write a bug report if you cannot find anything in the support.

Hope I could help somehow,
