MySQL HELP!!!

I just upgraded from MySQL 3.2 to 4.0.. I am trying to upgrade the grat tables..

I log in as root... and I get this error...

PLEASE HELP!

Also, in my PHP info file, it says I am still using 3.23.. but when I log into mysql, it does indeed say I am using 4.0.. what is the deal with that? And below. it also signals that.

Let me know... thanks...

[root@localhost var]# mysql_fix_privilege_tables
This scripts updates the mysql.user, mysql.db, mysql.host and the
mysql.func tables to MySQL 3.22.14 and above.

This is needed if you want to use the new GRANT functions,
CREATE AGGREGATE FUNCTION or want to use the more secure passwords in 3.23

If you get 'Access denied' errors, you should run this script again
and give the MySQL root user password as an argument!

Looks like you need to do what you're doing with admin permissions. Your login as Linux root doesn't help much, it's your database permissions that count in this case. Doing so is an easy to find option if you read the README files, or the docs that come with mysql.
