mysql hang!

OS: red hat 8.0
Software: Apache 2.0 + Mysql + Php + PHPBB

The system works normally six months ago. I recently found that mysqld was hung on occasion.

Mysqld's log:
Code:
Number of processes running now: 1
mysqld process hanging, pid 2225 - killed
050624 11:22:35 mysqld restarted
/usr/libexec/mysqld: ready for connections

Number of processes running now: 2
mysqld process hanging, pid 2250 - killed
mysqld process hanging, pid 2250 - killed
050624 11:22:37 mysqld restarted
050624 11:22:37 Can't start server: Bind on TCP/IP port: Address already in use
050624 11:22:37 Do you already have another mysqld server running on port: 3306 ?
050624 11:22:37 Aborting

050624 11:22:37 /usr/libexec/mysqld: Shutdown Complete

050624 11:22:37 mysqld ended
If I killed that process of hanged mysqld by manual and start mysqld, the system would be work

normally. But mysqld would be hung in some days.

How do I correct to this question? Please help me. Thanks.

What version of mysql are you using?

Have you tried reparing the tables in your databases?

Do you have any large queries that could be causing this?

Like this?
Code:
#mysqlcheck -A -o -r -p

Do you have any large queries that could be causing this?

No. Load is very small.

That mysqlcheck command should work.

You may want to upgrade to a more recent version of mysql (in the 4.x branches if your application will support it)
