mySQL fails timeout error

Hi,
I'm really new to linux... trying to make a mythtv box. Anyway, I'm following Wilson's guide to instal mythtv to work with my wintv 350. I'm trying to set up mySQL, but when I try to start the service a timeour error occurs trying to start MySQL Daemon. Same thing happens on boot.

Anyone know how to fix this. Or maybe a way to remove mySQL and install it again?

Thanks
