Mysql 5.6 compile on Centos 6.4


Hello Everyone..

I am going to compile Mysql 5.6, before going to do that i have few confusion in my mind, should i need to install cmake and libaio library first than begin the compile process please help me and i have done lots of about it but still confuse...

There is nothing to be confused about...the answer for this is the same as it was for your other thread, about compiling Apache:
  • Unless you NEED a particular feature, there is NO POINT in doing this..install from packages via YUM.
  • If you want to compile from source, you will have to follow the instructions that the packages provide..this includes installing any and all dependencies/prerequisites one by one, manually
  • This will do NOTHING to make your system easier to manage and administer in the future
  • You are NOT going to 'learn' anything from compiling source code...all you're doing is adding complexity to something simple, for NO REASON
Read the installation/compile instructions for MySQL. Follow them.
