I think we need the screen shots ( that prove it is a virus ) to prove that it is not

This "network activity" is probably ntp, or the Update manager continually failing to connect to update servers.

@xfool
get a dropbox account, upload there.

Why PDF? I don't think it allows PDF...

Take a screenshot as an image file (png, gif, jpg) and upload that.

You also can upload your screensho,ts to one of the many free image hosters, like Imageshack or Imgur, and just post the links here. This way you will not run into the size limits of attachments.

I don't think anyone will do that via this forum but I guess ya never know till ya try.

Load crunchbang via Unetbootin on a pendrive.
Hit Esc and boot the pendrive.
Then you can upload pictures of virus to the forum.

Then later after-wards, after your fears are addressed. I'd wipe it though.

Use Gparted in Crunchbang and delete All
partitions. Format everything as Ext2 one big partition. No /swap (unless you
want to break/wear out the phison ssd early, which may be soldered into the mother board).

Install Crunchbang. Install grub in Crunchbang to mbr of drive Crunchbang installed, finished.

Ha! I got one in the album! 12 hours later. I will work on the other 10 tomorrow. Sorry if I was snippy, I try not to be but the slowest tablet in the world makes me nuts. However, I do have to thank it as now you know I truly do have screen pics. Now I'm going to have 10 martinis, hugs my cats and pass out. Sorry to everyone again for having to put up with my dazzling tech skills. I really do appreciate your trying to help me.

You can send your mails to temp@slackeee.de, I will keep that mailbox open until I receive your images and then close it.

Suggesting a reformat straight away isn't the right way to go: asking for confirmation first is. If unsure also see same user similar thread from about a month ago: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...5/#post5007467

How does that show there is a virus? Please explain why you think DOM inspector is showing you have a virus. Who told you to look there and what to look for?

I am going to burn down my house. I' m on my kindle now. I have all the screen shots on a flash drive, if I take it a friends computer can I infect her? She will burn down my house if I do. Also please please please tell me how to kill these hard drives. I read Archlinux. I have no clue if to shred, bad block or the fcommand. I'm a bit shaky on the instructions- what process goes with which command. Please don't laugh this is enormously embarrassing and painful. Oh yes, that is not my real name on the album, it's my best friends mother in law, heh, heh. In our 50's and still juvenile.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see your post. When you get the rest all the commands are re direction, cloning and the like. I was really hoping no one would ask me why I looked there. When I realized that my Internet was compromised, I looked at the inspector because I thought it was a security tool. I looked again later and there was no info on it. The screen shots are 8 pages. Plus my wireless showing unknown wifi. Var has a www folder. Initrd is an empty directory that has memory used and doesn't show when show hidden files is chosen. I can go on. Last resort I am going to take Pictures of the shots with my camera, call and get my access and password changed and upload them that way. I will get them. I sound like I am bsing but I am not. I will do what it takes to get this info to you and if I'm wrong I will not hesitate to apologize and go back to windows.

I thought I did Unspawn. Being a former eeepc forum moderator and a former Xandros
user myself. I figured the Xfool would just be pounding sand up their backside trying
to use Xandros on that 900. Thanks though for showing I had responded before to this
poster and was clueless that I had been here before.

Nothing wrong though with running a persistent usb or sd card and digging into the internal
ssd drives with Xandros with that. Or. Posting with that persistent flash drive. I ran this netbook without a hard drive till my new ssd drive came in from China.
