My terminal questions.


I really want to get in deep with the terminal, and I can't find any guides for it. Any guides you know of other then the manual pages?

And other things, I am wondering how I can find out the time in the terminal. I'm having trouble with that.

I'll ask more questions if I need.

I would suggest the Rute tutorial to gain a deeper appreciation of the command line.

To find the current time, type "date" (no quotes) at the shell prompt.

This might be a start for bash. http://linux.org.mt/article/terminal
There is also tsh, csh and a few others.
The terminal can be term, xterm, and others as well.

You don't say what shell you're using but the following 2 sites are good although the second is for bash:
