my screen gets blank while opening fedora in my hp dv 2000 laptop


hey all, i have a problem that my sceen gets blank before it asks for username or password . so i am not able to open linux in my hp pavillion dv 2000. also not getting RPM pacakage for the same...please if anyone can resolve my prblem..

1. Is it the first time you install Linux on that computer?
2. Did the installation finish succesfully?
3. Have you ever logged in to that computer after booting from HDD?
4. Have you tried pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1? What happens?
