my music won't play


right, i've started a new thread for this just to try to get some help, but now i've found my music, i've tries using kaboodle and the other one with mandrake (forget it's name) but the music files won't play cleanly, they're sort of stop and starty, does anyone have any ideas, why?

the chances are its your soudcard - check kernel sources to see for known problems - I had this with an ess1869 sound chip when I tried to play mp3's
if your soundcard is indeed the problem then:
quick fix 1 - disable custom sampling it plays ok at 22100 hz
quick fix 2 - get a sb16 they are better supported

Thanks for the help.

I've tried playing a film and it played fine. The sound and picture were perfect usding kaboodle. But if I just play the MP3's with kaboodle then it won't play properly.

Any ideas why?

checked my drivers and it is using the correct drivers for my card so why won't my music play? and now i can't even get the stoppy starty playing, it won't play full stop!! can anyone help me?

use a decent player like xmms.. kaboodle is junk.
