My Linux interface disappeared after rebooting
 
after rebooting linux "red hat 9" my garphical interface for entering the username and the password disappeared,there is a black screen wanaa me to logain as text mode and that's mean i can't login using my KDE interface.. so how can i get back my Linux as well as previous...THX 4 attention.

Edit your /etc/inittab file. Change:

id:3:initdefault:

to

id:5:initdefault:

Alternatively, you can simply log in at the 'black screen' and type:

startx

to bring up KDE.

its already id:5:initdefault...and where can i write startx...??? my KDE interface can't be load....

Are you sure it's not running on VT7? Press ctrl-alt-f7 from the text login screen to check.... (you can press ctrl-alt-f1 to get back again)
