all cable modems will work sence there ethernet, next keybord, they are all the same!!!! so yes it wil work, some special fetures will require special programs to work, and not all keys will work (windwos specific key wont work like they do in windows, all shift and letter and the backspace and space and control and tab and function and number and symbol keys work

monitors will work!!!, youll need to have the specs of it tho (most important and only thing youll need is the refresh rates , if you dont know then guess, but guess lowly as the worng numbers can break the monitor, if you use the xserver from freedesktop.org you wont ahve a problem as itll guess for you), the mouse should work, speakers!!!, this is like the keybord question, sence it should use the sound card, the speakers will work, jsut as long as you ahve the right drivers to use your sound card

it should all work...suse is pretty great about finding your stuff and configuring it or telling you what you need to do...i use a logitech mouse and it works great...monitors, keyboards, speakers...they're pretty much standard, and suse 9 is brand new, so it should support everything on your pc...the only thing i'm not sure about is modems...but it sounds like you have that under control anyways...have fun!!!
