DELETED ... :newbie:

if this is homework, then you need to find these answers out yourself. please do not expect others to do your schoolwork for you. Quite why a friend would be setting you a super fun linux quiz i can't imagine.

All other LQ members... please take this into consideration before replying (or not, as may be more suitable)

May be he's taking some Linux course and the tutor gave him this homework.

These are all UNIX questions, not Linux (as evidenced by the word UNIX in the questions). Here are all of the answers to your questions - you learn far more by reading up on the subject and understanding the topics than you will by expecting others to do it for you. We are friendly and easy going at LQ, but we do have limits.

Those are like really easy questions too.. basics of the basics! ;)

frob23 12-14-2004 09:09 AM

lol, your "friend" wants you to answer this. I agree with everyone else... do your own homework.

csfalcon 12-14-2004 09:32 AM

maybe his friend needed the homework done and is using him to get the answers.

thanks for taking time to reply to my question.
is there any website where I can go and find the answer to questions like te ones I posted because I have try some web pages and this questions are very concrete and it seems there is not a concrete answer for it.

dave_starsky 12-14-2004 01:32 PM

Some of those questions are really badly written

acid_kewpie 12-14-2004 01:54 PM

aboslutely any basic users kind you will find via http://google.com will be more than sufficient. these questions are extremely simple. you might want to look at the rute users guide (on my signature)

Anyone ever think too hard about a question?
like this one?
Quote:

1. UNIX commands are case sensitive. In which case must you type them?
a. all uppercase
b. all lowercase
c. sentence case, so the first letter is capitalized and others are lowercase
d. any combination of uppercase and lowercase
It tells you they are case sensitive and then doesn't give you the option of saying whatever case they are in. Foo != foo != FOO != foO. Example in SuSE there is a command called ControlPanel what answer does that fit? it's not a because of lowercase, not B because of Uppercase, Not C because it has a capital letter in the middle, and not D because any combination will not work.

Sounds to me like they are trying to kill your GPA fight the power!

17 tells you the answer to 22 aswell
