hanging fedora 9

I tried to install the same and it was ok till I attempted to do the updates. It died. Didn't have the patience to persist but if it is any consolation, fedora is an experimental version of Red Hat so expect glitches.

Who made the partitions you or Fedora ?
if I compare it with mine made by Fedora /boot 196 MB Swap 2 GB /= 20 GB

512 meg ram is the VERY low end limit
that is one of ?? howmany reasons for it to hang .
8 Gig for / is a bit small but will work , but not well .
i set mine up like this
/boot 78 meg
/ 45Gig
/home 5 gig
swap 4 gig
/nmt/ntfs 10 gig win xp share partition
/usr/opt 130 gig data
/mnt/windows ( second hard drive ) 80 gig
------ updates ------
they just released the fixed repo sig's today ( Wensday )
