my eth0 is not working on ubuntu 10.04


I cant find eth0 in ubuntu 10.04 on my new toshiba satellite c650 laptop.

ethernet is not working, wifi is working fine .

ifconfig only shows wlan0 and lo

lan and wifi is working in windows.

any help from you guys i am new

What does lspci|grep -i net show you?

The first test that occurs to me is to jack the computer into an ethernet cable, reboot, and retest.

The results could help narrow the search for the cause of the problem.

unfortunate i moved to ubuntu 11.04 and everything works perfect thanks for the post
