My dvd drive is not mounting and reading. No udf based dvd is not reading.
 
My dvd drive is not mounting and not reading any udf based dvd like any movie or audio

Bring up the command line and type in "dmesg | more" without the quotes and scan through for cdrom related errors. A normal output should look similar to this :
