my domain >my vps


Hello guys..I have a problem..here is what I d`like to do :I have a domain and a vps and I d`like to have ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com I created these name server at my domain registrar with the vps ip adress and I set the domain nameserver to the same..the problem is that is not resolving(I don`t know if I expressed myself good ..)
I tried alot of dns server tutorials and I still haven`t found the solutions to do what I want...I use Debian,I hope someone can help/guide me..............

Have you set up BIND and configured it to be the master server for the domain in question? Can you check if you can resolve the domains from the name server machine itself? You should check the BIND logs and perhaps use tcpdump to see if DNS related traffic is being passed to/froim your DNS server. It's possible that you have something misconfigured that's causing BIND to fail on startup or blocking traffic to your server.

Also, I'm not sure if this applies in yourcase but many registrars require two separate DNS servers for redundancy purposes.

look, I installed bind and tried to configure it many times but I haven`t succed that`s why I really need help..someone to guide me....
I will really appreciate....I don`t know what else should I do...
