Question multiple mail servers

Hi,

I am hoping that someone can help me with this.....

I am setting up a server for someone using redhat 9. They are trying to save costs by having the web sites and mail from the 2 different domains on the same server.
The web stuff I can figure out using virtual hosting but I can not work out what I have to do to get the mail to work and unfortunately I do not have alot of time to be able to try a multitude of different ideas..

If anyone can give me some ideas as to what to do and which software to use it would be extremely appreciated.

Karen

Sendmail handles virtual hosting quite well, in my experience. You will want to enable the virtusertable and genericstable features of sendmail. But beyond this, we need a little more details as to your setup -- firstly, are you even using sendmail? If so, what POP3/IMAP server would you like to use (I use dovecot). Are e-mail users going to have actual user accounts on the system, or will they be virtual users? If you do a search on "e-mail virtual hosting" or something similar, you should get some good info.

Thanks for this.

at the moment, I am not using anything. They are currently using a windows server using mDaemon...
I am not totally fussed as to if they are actual accounts or virtual users, it is more a case of what ever is the easiest. This is a very steep learning curve for me, but hey, someone has to be brave enough to take the leap.
