Multiple instances
 

Could someone tell me how to run multiple instances of an application?

IF that is two general of a question, I have proxy server software that needs to have multiple instances run simultaneously on separate IP addresses on the same NIC card.

Is it just a matter of reinstalling the software and putting it in a different directory?

If so, what do I need to consider when associating each instance with a specific IP address?

It depends on the application. If it's a server software, there shouldn't be problems, through. You just need to run the program multiple times and possibly give every copy a different working directory (configuration, logs and so on). You should be able to tell every copy in it's configuration which interface it should use.
