Multiple GRUB entries

I am running Mandriva Spring 2008. Every so often I get an update and find new entries for different desk tops in the Grub menu. I have at present:
Mandriva Spring 2008
Mandriva Failsafe
and two desktops.
Can I delete some and if so, which? Does booting to Spring 2008 use the latest desktop or do I have to boot to the latest desktop entry?
Thanks

Brian

The 'title' line in your /boot/grub/menu.lst file will tell you which entry you are booting. Mandriva 2008 and Mandriva Failsafe are two different things, the latter generally used for troubleshooting. You should have a 'kernel' entry after each title entry to tell you if they are different kernels and which is the most recent. You don't need to delete, you can just put a hash mark (#) in front of the word title and that entry will not show in the menu.
