Multimedia, Kaffeine Media Player unable to read .wmv
 

Hi, I was wondering about Kaffeine Media Player 0.4.3b software is unable to read program.wmv. I tried to set up in setting but seems nothing helps.

Is there any other software that can read .wmv?

Yes, there is Mplayer, it can read nearly any type of video file.
Since you use Mandrake, set up your urpmi, go to Manfrake Club to
learn how to do that. Then , simply download w32codecs, you might need
libdvdread and other such libs if you want to read dvds as well

many thanks, but one more thing, since I am in Mandrakeusers easy urpmi configuration tool now...

I see there is number 2 section that saying about either Core distribution or Other sources??

Just click check mark any one of them?

Yep, of course, you can do them one by one..

Useful tip : don't bother typing them in console as they say : just select the whole line, right-click , Copy, then in your console, after typing the "su" command to get you into root, just Paste the line : this way no way of forgetting anything ;)
