MS fonts problem

I have installed the msttcorefonts package on my Ubunutu dapper. I have a problem with some letters. For example there is a screenshot here for it. "k" letter really looks bad. I wonder whether anyone -or everyone maybe- seeing the k letter like this?

Is this happening in any other program or just your browser? Sometimes, the issue is with improperly designed websites - Linux renders screen fonts a little larger than Windows, and often foolish web designers will create areas for their text that constrains it to too small a space.

Any .ttf font will work in Ubuntu. The issue is that they render slightly different (compare Times New Roman 16 in Windows and Ubuntu, for example). I believe that setting Firefox to Times New Roman, 16pt for its default font will get you what you're looking for. Your mileage may vary...

Good luck!
