i m new to linux. i installed MPlayer 1.0rc4-4.4.4 in my machine.if i play any mp3 file it shows

but in vlc player it plays smoothly. my linux version rhel6 -2.6.32-71.el6.i686. how can i resolve it.

Error message shows that system is searching for DVB card and not getting it. You need to work with configuration of mpeg player, you installed, such that it do not looks for dvb card. Moreover, if your file is playing well in vlc, what is the hassle. VLC is very good player.

the thing is, i want a command line operatable video player...no gui.
how can i play video files in vlc via command line..?
