i have downloaded MPLAYER and i have installed it but i cant get any sound from it...it says code 2 error...and when i look at the config file, it says nosound, i have an Audigy 2 soundcard, i get sound when i listen to music or play games, but not when i start a dvd....am i missing a file? or have i installed it wrong?
You probably need to install the codecs, which you can get here http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html Also, what distro are you using, how did you install mplayer?
If you are using Ubuntu you will need to download more codecs like ffmgep, lame, sox, and other audio and video codecs.. As said we first need to know what distro you are running.
hi im using SuSe 10.1...when i run Divx films ,i get sound, but not with DVD...but the thing i dont get it that ,the Divx films are encoded with AC3 sound and the DVD films im playig are AC3 sound...do i need a different file for the DVD, to get sound?
What repositories are you using? For SuSE you will probably want to add the "packman" repository to your list. Search here at LQ for existing threads, esp the SuSE subforum. Good luck with it
