Mplayer Help (libpng problem)

I have the libpng installed after the error is reported by the mplayer, and then I encounter another one--"Error: X11 support required for GUI compilation", what should I do now?

Thanks for any help.

How were you initially trying to install mplayer .rpm .tar.gz? What distro are you using?

You probably don't have the xorg-x11-libs installed. Have you tried typing as root: urpmi mplayer which would download and install mplayer+dependencies (just answer Y if you are asked about installing additional libs). If you can't do urpmi or that command fails for whatever reason you can get mplayer binaries (.rpm) from here: http://greysector.rangers.eu.org/mpl...-optional.html although you would need to have xorg-x11-lib installed.
