I'm trying to use a remote control app on my android tablet to control mplayer on Linux. It uses ssh over wifi and seems to work (I can ssh into it and navigate the filesystem) until I need to actually try to use mplayer. The command the app uses for mplayer is
Code:
mplayer -fs %s
but the app doesn't produce any error so I tried to enter it in Linux to see if I could get any info back on it....
Quote:
asdf@(none):~$ mplayer -fs %s
Warning unknown option stopxscreensaver at line 5
MPlayer 1.0rc4-4.4.5 (C) 2000-2010 MPlayer Team
mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory
Failed to open LIRC support. You will not be able to use your remote control.
Playing %s.
File not found: '%s'
Failed to open %s.
Does anyone know how I could get mplayer to execute this command successfully?
Thanks in advance.

well mplayer should never be able to play "%s", you need to give it a proper legal command in the first place. I've no idea how to write an Android app, but clearly mplayer needs an actual file to play, and I'd guess you need to interpret this variable, which is Android specific?, at an earlier stage in your code.
Oh, so it's a variable argument. I see now. I think the best thing to do, is try to launch the remote app in the android terminal and see what the output returned is.
