mplayer error

Running suse9.3. I installed mplayer a while back, and it worked great. Then after a week or two it started only working randomly (IE I would do a fresh restart, try to play a video with no luck, do another fresh restart and it worked fine), Now however, it doesn't even work intermitenly. I've done about 5 restarts with no success. The errror I get (which I fail to understand):
Code:
jordan@linux:~/Desktop/osshare/j2rse> mplayer pb3.mpeg

It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.
I've played this file before just fine, so it's not corrupted or anything. Does anybody recognize that error? What can I do about it? Totem and other movie applications all fail to work when mplayer fails to work. What's wrong with my media players?

Nope, same thing happens. When you said "add" did you mean "tried"?
Here's what happened:
Code:
linux:/home/jordan/Desktop/osshare # echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq
linux:/home/jordan/Desktop/osshare #
Pretty exciting, huh?

and after that where is the
jordan@linux:~/Desktop/osshare/j2rse> mplayer pb3.mpeg
????
with that line you just put the noumber 1024 into the file "max-user-freq" which is located "/proc/sys/dev/rtc/"
